Many of you have seen a post circulating about a suspicious party in the area of the Belton Cemetery. After speaking with the citizen who made the post, the person in the picture has been positively identified.
This person is very familiar to our department. It has been determined that no crime was committed on this occasion but the entire patrol division has been made aware of this incident, the identity of the suspicious party, what he drives and where he lives. Extra patrols will be conducted in this area as well as other areas this individual is known to frequent.
This serves as a prime example of community policing helping to prevent crimes before they occur. Thank you to all of our alert citizens and remember.....do not hesitate to call when something "just isn't right".
