Obituary - Wilma Carolyn Walling

Wilma Carolyn Walling, 81, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at her home. 

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 11:00-12:00.

Wilma was born June 29, 1938 in Fulton, KS, the oldest daughter of eight children Elven and Ellen E. (Hudson) Provence. She was a graduate of Stanley, KS High School and received an associate degree in English and Literature from Longview Community College.

Wilma served in the U. S. Air Force for four years and worked for various government agencies as an administrative assistant. She also worked for the Raymore-Peculiar School District before retiring in 2000. She lived in the Cass County area since 2010, moving to Harrisonville in 2015. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Harrisonville. She visited 48 of the 50 states and five countries. Of all the places she had been, her favorite place to be was near her family.

Wilma is survived by her three children, Donal Jeffrey Parham (Wanda), Harrisonville, MO, Teressa Dawn Parham (Gretchen), Denver, CO, and Kathryn Creson (Shane), Branson, MO; three sisters, Kay Boyle, Belton, MO, Glenda Humphrey, Lee’s Summit, MO, and Kathryn Vechnak, Raymore, MO; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She loved her family and was proud of each one for their uniqueness. Her sense of humor and kind heart will be greatly missed.
