Man seriously injured while working on vehicle in Amsterdam

On 8/26/20 around 8:30am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies and Bates County EMS responded to a report of a man who was injured while working on his vehicle on Northwest Elm Street and Pine Street in Amsterdam.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when 23 year old Robert A. Trinkle was working on a 1996 GMC when he pulled the shift cable on the vehicle, setting the vehicle in motion and running him over.

Mr. Trinkle sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.
