Rickie grew up in the Springfield area and attended school there. He served in the United States Army for six years, stationed stateside, during the Vietnam Conflict.
Following his discharge from Ft. Ord, CA he remained in California to live and work for most of his adult life. He has lived in Vernon County, MO for the past 15 months. Rickie was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed fishing and building model airplanes.
He is survived by two daughters, Stephane Williams (Jason), St. Charles, MO, and Carmen Schweitzer (Jody), Ashland, MO; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; father, Robert Clayton (Kaethe), Pittsburg, MO; three siblings, Roxanna Leer, Sheldon, MO, Randy Ladwig, Kansas City, MO, Rose Ladwig, Nevada, MO; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Ladwig.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Pennsboro Cemetery, South Greenfield, MO with Pastor Jack Dinwiddie officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday evening at Ferry Funeral Home.
