Obituary - Timothy J. Britt

Mass of Christian Burial services for Timothy J. Britt of Adrian, Missouri will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, Missouri.  Visitation prior to services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Church.  Cremation to follow services with celebration of life and inurnment at a later date in Delhi, Iowa.  Contributions to Camp Guardian of Wildwood, Missouri for Down Syndrome or Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City.  Services under the direction of the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) Butler, Missouri.  Online condolences www.schowengerdtchapel.com.

Timothy John Britt, age 66 of Adrian, Missouri passed away suddenly on August 22, 2020 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler, Missouri.  He was born March 13, 1954 to William John and Mary Ann Schemmel Britt of Delhi, Iowa.

A 1972 graduated of Maquoketa Valley High School in Delhi, Iowa and 1976 graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, Tim worked for John Deere for 42 years until his retirement in 2019.  He began as manufacturing supervisor in the Quad City then as District Service Representative for the Kansas City area and eventually Territory Sales Manager for the Midwest.

Tim was united in marriage to Ann Zenz in November of 1982 and to this union two children were born.  They were later divorced.  He then met his life partner, Beverly Larrick and they enjoyed many hobbies together including traveling the world on cruises.  Tim enjoyed his acreage and the beautiful landscaping.  Known to many as “The John Deere Guy,” Tim had quite the collection of John Deere tractors.  He was known in the community for his professional fireworks displays.  His memberships included Knights of Columbus and Boy Scouts Leader Troop #240.

Timothy is survived by one son, Tyler Britt of Harrisonville, Missouri; one daughter, Krista Ann Britt of Harrisonville, Missouri; two brothers, Jeff Britt and wife Patti of Riverside, Iowa and Dan Britt and wife Jean of Waverly, Iowa; two sisters, Connie Meisgeier and husband Jerry of Traer, Iowa and Jill Hentges and husband Tom of Palatine, Illinois; his fiance’ Beverly Larrick of Amoret, Missouri; and many nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
