Iola Pauline (Kreissler) Rapp, age 82 passed away peacefully on September 20, 2020 at St. Luke’s Rehab Institute in Overland Park, Kansas. She was the daughter of Gustav Adolph and Dorothea Louise (Eckhoff) Kreissler, born on June 27, 1938. Iola spent her formative years in the Appleton City area, where she graduated from Appleton City High School in 1956. After completing her education, she married Duwayne Rapp, and to this union three children were born: Danny, Jina, and Jennifer. Iola was a dietician at Ellett Memorial Hospital and also worked for many happy years at Head Start in Appleton City.

Iola’s family was the most important thing to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she lived for. She was incredibly kind and generous. While intently watching Wheel of Fortune and sending text messages were among her favorite things, Iola’s favorite hobby was moving her house furniture around. She also enjoyed arranging her nick-nacks, which were always placed perfectly. After she retired, Iola opened a gift store in Appleton City called Shop Etc, where she loved visiting with and helping customers pick out treasures for their homes. She spent countless volunteer hours at Hudson listening to children read, assisting at the Appleton City School Library, and serving the public at Ellett Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. Her faith remained strong throughout her life and she was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City, where she received confirmation in 1952.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gustav Adolph and Dorothea Louise (Eckhoff) Kreissler; one son, Danny Rapp; her three brothers: John, Edward, and Harold Kreissler.

Iola is survived by her two daughters: Jina (Billy) Hill and Jennifer (Scott) Heiman; grandchildren: Tiffany (Toby) Burkhart, Nick (Becky) Hill, Brice Hill and Adam Liston, Abby (Andrew) Ward, Heidi (Nick) Garcia; Maggie Heiman, and Andres Heiman, Tanner Phillips-Rapp and Dalton (Kelsey) Rapp; great-grandchildren: Bryson and Hillsleigh Burkhart, Raeah, Raeleigh, and Renner Hill, Landry and Sullivan Ward, and Tyson Phillips-Rapp; two sisters: Elsie Williams and Dolores Fuelling; and one brother, John Kreissler; along with many extended family members and great friends. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
