Obituary - Ronald James “Jamie” Alexander

Ronald James “Jamie” Alexander, 53, Nevada, MO went to his heavenly home surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Jamie was born March 28, 1967 in El Dorado Springs, MO to Ronald E. Alexander and Shirley J. Beckman. He was united in marriage to Patti Pence on August 16, 1986 in Schell City, MO and she survives of the home.

Jamie was raised in El Dorado Springs and graduated from high school there, Class of 1985. He attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield and then moved to Nevada in 1991. Jamie spent 15 years working at Heartland Hospital in Nevada doing what he loved, working with kids. In 1996 he began coaching for the Nevada Football program which spanned 23 years. He worked for Brown Beverage for eight years and had worked at XPO Logistics from 2008 to present. In addition to coaching football, Jamie was very active in coaching his children and grandchildren in baseball and softball. He coached Nevada American Legion and had assisted his son Jerrod with Bronaugh High School baseball. Jamie faced his illness with so much strength and a positive attitude and was always concerned with the wellbeing of others.

Survivors include his wife Patti of the home; three children, daughter, Shawna Eby and her husband Nathan of Nevada, son, Jerrod Alexander and his wife Katie of Nevada, daughter, Andi Thomas and her husband Rusty of Nevada; 11 grandchildren, Brinley, Briar, Bo, Brantley, Brax, Presly, Korbyn, Kanon, Paxtyn, Hudsyn, Ava; mother, Shirley J. Beckman and her husband Brent, Walker, MO; brother, Bill Alexander and his wife Alison, El Dorado Springs, MO; sister, Tonya Hooper and her husband Alan, El Dorado Springs, MO; step-mother, Patti Alexander, El Dorado Springs, MO; stepbrothers, Darin Leonard, Sr. and his wife Susan, St. Louis, MO, Brad Leonard and his wife Amy, El Dorado Springs, MO; mother and father in-law, Lloyd and Sandy Pence, Nevada, MO; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Alexander.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Nevada with Pastor Jeff Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
