Update from Liberty Utilities 10/20/20 7:30pm

Attention Rich Hill and Hume, Missouri, gas customers (10/20/20, 7:30 p.m. Update): Additional crews have arrived to assist with our response. We have approximately 400 customers without service. Crews are currently visiting individual customer homes to shut off gas meters.

During the home visits, crews will first identify themselves with their Liberty Utilities photo identification. If you are not home or don’t answer your door, our crews will shut off the meter and leave a door tag.

Once repairs on the system are completed, crews will begin to return to each home to restore service. Service restoration is not expected to be complete for all customers until late Wednesday night or by noon Thursday. Crews will work into the night tonight to make as much progress as possible and then start back early tomorrow morning.

Please leave your front porch light on tonight for our crews if possible. We appreciate your patience as we work to safely repair our system. We will provide additional updates as they are available.

For the safety of our customers, only qualified Liberty Utilities personnel should shut off the gas meter. Customers should never attempt to shut of their own meter. While we have made the system safe following this incident, please always remember, if you smell gas, immediately leave the site and call our gas emergency line at 1-855-644-8134 or 911.
