Butler man escapes injury after striking cow in the roadway

On August 27th around 10:00 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies, Bates County EMS and Butler Fire all responded to a one vehicle accident on N Highway and CR 1286.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2003 Ford driven by 39 year old Jeffrey R. Nissen of Butler, Missouri struck a cow that was in the roadway.

Mr. Nissen sustained minor injures and he refused medical treatment at the scene of this accident. The vehicle was totaled and towed by Douty's Tow of Butler.
