Obituary - Joan E. Hagemier

Joan E. Hagemier, 59, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Wednesday evening, July 21, 2021 at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Mo. She was born December 20, 1961 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of John Irving Hagemier and Anna Berniece (Querling) Hagemier.
She was a member of Northeast Baptist Church in Clinton, and formerly a member of the Middletown Baptist Church in Middletown, Mo. Joan served Northeast Baptist in so many ways. She ran sound and media for worship services, she cooked for camps, retreats and mission trips. Joan taught Sunday School for youth, always seeking to help them have a connection to Christ and a practical application of God’s Word. She served as camp counselor for youth and children’s camps. This opened the door for her to be the Children’s Camp Director for the West Central Baptist Association. Her heart for the LORD was expressed in loving youth and children. Joan not only served on the sound committee of Northeast, she served on Personnel committee, Properties Committee, Kitchen Committee, Out Reach committee and filled many other positions over the years. She stepped out to lead and didn’t want to be left out when she felt she could be involved. She loved to be used by the LORD in any and all ways. If Joan heard of a need in the church, she many times was instrumental in making certain that need was met. She would loan out her vehicles if there was a needy individual or family. She allowed others to use her belongings, always saying, “God blessed her with it to bless others.” One could come to the conclusion that Joan liked to try to out give the Lord. Joan opened her house to others, showing hospitality. Some of the greatest times were when she made up quite the spread of food for Clinton PD and law enforcement during “Ole Glory Days.” As a teacher she loved her students and she knew teaching was her call. She served the Clinton School District as a Teacher and testing coordinator 1984-2013, she then served in Warrensburg 2013-2016, and after retiring she substituted for Clinton Intermediate School 2017-2021. Joan always wanted to help any student to excel, and she had a way with those having special needs to bloom. She enjoyed crafting, fishing, cooking, photography, traveling and singing. Her favorite thing to do was to help others. Surviving are one brother, Fred Hagemier and his wife, Laura, Middletown, Mo.; two nephews, Jarrett Hagemier and his wife, Andee, Curryville, Mo., and Tyler Hagemier and his wife, Aundrea, Middletown, Mo.; and four great-nephews, Gage Hagemier, Gil Hagemier, Gavin Hagemier and Grant Hagemier. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Northeast Baptist Church.
