Update: Four people killed in Cass County fatality accident

On August 2nd around 10:30a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies and several first responders from the area responded to a two vehicle fatality accident at Missouri 7 Highway and Route Z in Garden City.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2000 Peterbilt driven by 59 year old Everett A. Ashley of Lowry City, Missouri traveled down an embankment and onto the northbound lanes of Missouri 7 Highway striking a 2015 Nissan SUV driven by 61 year old Stephan W. Bennett of Junction City, Kansas.

Four people were killed in this accident 68 year old Gerald R. Dittman of Hope, Kansas, 61 year old Stephan W. Bennett of Junction City, Kansas, 68 year old Jean M. Pariseau of Herinton, Kansas and the semi truck driver 59 year old Everett A. Ashley of Lowry City, Missouri. 

Another passenger in the SUV 29 year old Dakota M. Engel of Junction City, Kansas sustained serious injures and was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment. 

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene of this accident by J's Southland Tow. This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 46th Fatality for the year 2021.
