Obituary - Gary John McCauley, Sr

Gary John McCauley, Sr., 82, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at his home in Harrisonville, MO following a lengthy battle with cancer. Gary was born on July 30, 1939 in Spokane, WA to parents Frank W. McCauley, Jr. and Olga Dorothy (Glubrecht) McCauley. He married Judy Myers and later married Linda Kay Leer on October 6, 1967 in Spokane, WA. 

Gary grew up in Spokane, WA and served two years in the U. S. Navy and six years in the Navy Reserves. He was an avid deer hunter and loved antique cars.

Survivors in addition to his wife Linda are his children Lorie Kipper, Overland Park, KS, Debbie Baker, Spokane, WA, Rick McCauley and wife Kimberly, Peculiar, MO, Gayla Kendell and husband Thomas, Spokane, WA, Sherri Vogt and husband Michael, Shawnee, KS, Gary John McCauley, Jr. and wife Cindy, Yuma, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, one brother, Frank McCauley, III and wife Atsumi, Mead, WA. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers and his daughter Carrie Norman on September 6, 2015. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO with Chaplain Brian Klein officiating. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held at 9:30 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Moore Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO.
