The Bates County Sheriff’s Office announces the retirement of Jail Sergeant Edwin Berry. Sgt. Berry has spent 16 years in Law Enforcement. Prior to coming to work for the Bates County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Berry spent time serving our citizens as an EMT with the Bates County Memorial Hospital.
Sgt. Berry is a horse enthusiast and says retirement will bring more time to raise his horses and to perfect his bbq skills.
Sheriff Anderson thanked Sgt.Berry for his service to the office and the citizens of Bates County. He also thanked him for many years of friendship that far exceeded his time at the Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Berry thanked everyone for being his family for so many years.
Many memories and stories were shared at his retirement party and will continue to be shared for years to come.
Sgt. Berry’s coworkers pooled together an purchased him a new smoker and grill.
