We are excited to announce this week’s selection as State Farm student athlete of the week Annalee Gardner. Annalee is a Junior outside hitter on the Lady Bears Volleyball team. She is also a co-captain of the team this year. Annalee was nominated by her Coach Kassidy Hannah.
Coach Hannah stated “Annalee is a consistent player who leads our team with confidence. She leads our team in kills and has the highest serve receive rating with 100% last night in the win against Warsaw. Annalee has stepped up when her friend and co-captain has been forced to be absent.
The team has had a difficult start to the season, but Annalee has faced adversity with grace and composure and it’s an honor to have her leading our team.” When we asked Annalee to describe what it takes to become an elite athlete she stated “it’s those that hustle and give 100% at all times that succeed, and those athletes that continue to encourage and lead their team.” We asked Annalee what her plans were after high school and she stated “my goal is to go to a division one college to pole vault.” We want to congratulate Annalee and all the lady bears on their hard fought win against Warsaw last night in a tough 5 set match. This week is Butler’s Homecoming week! The team will take on Archie on Tuesday. Good luck Lady Bears!
