Nevada man seriously injured after striking vehicle that was abandon in the roadway

On January 1st around 6:57 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a accident on US 54 Highway around 4 miles west of Nevada.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2007 Ford F-150 driven by 29 year old Samuel P. Kimmell of Nevada, Missouri struck a 2004 Dodge Ram that was abandon in the roadway.

Mr. Kimmell sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Both vehicles received extensive damages and both were towed from the scene by TCB Tow of Nevada.
