Adrian Optimist Club Students of the Month February 2022

The Adrian Optimist Club is pleased to honor Students of the Month from the Miami, Ballard, and Adrian schools. Criteria for this honor center on outstanding academic and civic achievement and school spirit. Staff at each of the schools make the selection, and their decision is based on expansion of these criteria. Selection is based on the criteria, but a student stepping up to a particular task will come to play in it. Each student is honored with a certificate of recognition from the Adrian Optimist Club and $20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks”

The Student of the Month for February at Ballard is seventh grader Macie Wainscott. Macie is the daughter of Erin and Nathaniel Wainscott. At school she is a member of Scholar Bowl and enjoyed being on the Junior High volleyball team. She enjoys anything that has to do with art, especially drawing. She also likes spending time with friends and family. As a seventh grader she is unsure of where she wants to further her education. She thinks Mizzou, UCM, or an art school.

The Ballard staff has said: “Macie always shows up prepared for class with a positive outlook and attitude in the classroom, is kind to her peers, and always strives to do her absolute best at all times. All of that coupled with straight A’s in all her classes demonstrates her excellence as a role model to her peers.” Macie shows her kindness and dependability every day by helping her classmates with assignments.

Adrian’s Student of the Month is senior, Braylen Ford. Braylen is the daughter of Jeff and Amy Ford. She is very active in volleyball, softball, basketball, cheerleading, FBLA, FFA, and National Honor Society. Activities outside of school include competitive volleyball, softball, and basketball.

Braylen believes that a little progress each day adds up to be big results. She plans to attend Cottey College to major in Business and play volleyball and softball

Miami’s February Student of the Month is senior Alyssa Vunovich. She is the daughter of Tabatha and Robbie Vunovich. She has been a member of the yearbook staff for two years. Currently she is employed by WalMart in Butler. Her statement of inspiration is: “ You can do anything you put your mind to.” At the moment she is undecided about attending college so plans to continue working until she makes a decision.

Miami staff stated that: “ Alyssa always has her work turned in on time and done to the best of her ability. She will always be the first to volunteer to help another student or faculty member. “
