BCMH: Happy Retirement Delores!

After 13 years of dedicated service to Bates County Memorial Hospital, Delores Shannon retired on November 30, 2021. Delores began her employment as a registration clerk with the Adrian Family Care Clinic in 2009, and worked there for the duration of her time with BCMH.

Delores has always been pleasant to work with and treats all patients with dignity and respect. Her career in health care, a total of 44 years, began in 1978 when she went to work for Dr. Long’s clinic.

She said she had no intention of working at that time, but Dr. Long asked her if she wanted a part time job to “get away from those guys at the ranch.” Delores and her husband Denny (now a retired rancher) live in Drexel, Missouri.

They have a daughter, two sons, nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. She is excited about retirement and to have the time to travel.

“I have made many friends during my hears at the clinics,” Delores said. “All my coworkers have been the best! They will be missed.” Delores was honored with a beautiful clock, presented by Greg Weaver, Chief Executive Officer.
