A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022 at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, Missouri 64012. Rosary will follow visitation at 7:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at church followed by a burial at Floral Hills Cemetery in Raytown, Missouri.
Leona was born in Brookfield, Missouri on February 20, 1945 to Harold Fry and Marietta (Vater). After graduating high school, Leona continued her education at Longview Community College. Shortly after high school Leona was joined in marriage with her loving husband Sherman Ragsdale. Together they created fifty-eight years of memories together. Their union was blessed with two children, Thomas and Sheryll. They also helped raise their Granddaughter Sandra. Leona was a faithful member of St. Sabina Catholic Church in Belton, member of the Ladies Auxiliary, member of the Piecemakers Quilt Group and the Raymore Quilt Group as she was an avid quilter. Leona was also a very talented artist and painted in acrylic, oil and watercolor. She also did pen & ink, and color pencil. Of course cooking and baking were also something Leona was exceptional at and enjoyed.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Marietta Fry; brothers, Thomas M. Fry and Gerald L. Fry; and grandchild, Jerimiah Bentley.
She is survived by her husband Sherman Ragsdale; son, Thomas Ragsdale (Michelle); daughter, Sheryll Bentley (James); sister, Connie Astry (David); three grandchildren, Sandra Sindeldecker (Jason), Jacob Bentley, and Abigail Ragsdale; one great grandson, Alexavier Sindeldecker; as well as nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
