David W. Hutcherson, 87, of Calhoun, Missouri passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at his home. He was born February 19, 1935 in Clinton, Mo., the son of Luther Wyatt Hutcherson and Mary Ethel (Wiley) Hutcherson.
He married Mary Helen Peelor on October 26, 1958 in Clinton, Mo. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2001.
David was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church, singing in the church choir, a member of the Clinton Elk’s Lodge #1034, Sedalia Moose Lodge, Windsor American Legion, and the “birthday club”. He enjoyed attending high school sporting events, especially when his grandkids were participants. He was a true Royals and Chiefs fan but also enjoyed his Mizzou football and basketball.
Surviving are one son, Bob Hutcherson (Susan), Clinton, Mo.; one daughter, Elizabeth Maurin (John), Kansas City North, Mo.; six grandsons, Scott Hutcherson (Brittany), Clinton, Mo., Cody Hutcherson (Hannah), Austin, Texas, Douglas Hutcherson (Colleen), Columbia, Mo., Matthew Maurin, Kansas City North, Mo., Andrew Maurin (Sara), Liberty, Mo., and Steven Maurin (Brittany), Kansas City North, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Whitley, Wylie, Leah, Hunter, Benjamin, Rose and Shyanne, and one on the way, Jackson David; and numerous extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Clinton United Methodist Church. Pastor Monty Stratton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., just prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun, Mo. Friends may call Friday from noon to 8:00 p.m. at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Clinton United Methodist Church, and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
