A Celebration of Life visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc. 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, MO 64083.
Carol was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 29, 1952 to Clyde S. Atkins and Zoe Ann Marsh. Carol was one of five children, Craig, Cindy, Jimmy and Harry. In her early years, Carol grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Ruskin High School in 1970. She went on to get her Associate Degree at Penn Valley Community College. In the late summer of 1983 she was joined in marriage with her loving husband, John Charles “Chuck” Atwell, Sr. on August 18th. Their family was complete with all four children, Jennifer, Suzanne, John and Kate. Carol and Chuck lived in Peculiar raising their family for over 30 years and briefly in Belton for five years. Recently they moved to Warsaw to start a new adventure together. In life Carol had a passion for her loving family and for crafts, gardening, birds and dogs.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband Chuck Atwell of 38 wonderful years, four children, Jennifer Osgood (Todd), Suzanne Baier (Ben), John Atwell (Brandi) and Kate Salame; four siblings, Craig Atkins (Julie), Cindy Bahr (Dave), Jimmy Atkins (Rowena) and Harry Atkins (Tina); six grandchildren, Trent, Julia and Clark Osgood, Brett and Bailey Baier and Ryan Salame; and her loving English Setter “Rusty”.
