Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or the American Cancer Society.
Bob was born October 8, 1932 to William Harris and Ella (Rafferty) Hon in Pleasant Hill, MO. He attended Archie High School before transferring to Harrisonville High School, graduating with the Class of 1950. After high school, he served in the US Navy Reserves during the Korean War.

Shortly after his enlistment, he married the love of his life, Charlotte Morgan, on March 15, 1952 in Harrisonville, MO at the First Baptist Church Parsonage, officiated by Brother Canning. Together, they lived in Harrisonville for 35 years, then relocated to Hollister, MO; Excelsior Springs, MO; and Richmond, TX; before finally settling back in Excelsior Springs until Bob’s passing.
During his career, he was a carpenter in home construction, staying self-employed for 35 years before retiring in 2000. He was a former member of the Harrisonville Optimist Club, Cass Masonic Lodge No. 147 AF&AM, Ararat Shrine, and had served as Father Advisor to Rainbow Girls and was a member of the Antioch Southern Baptist Church in Harrisonville.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert "Bobby Lee" Hon; sisters: Marian McKean and Alice Hughes; and brothers: Bill Hon and Dale Hon. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Charlotte; his daughters: Becky Tompkins of Excelsior Springs, MO; and Rachelle Solomon of Raymore, MO; 4 grandchildren: Nathan (Marina) Tompkins of Richmond, TX; Paul (Amber) Tompkins of Ballwin, MO; Chris Tompkins of Excelsior Springs, MO; and Lora Tompkins of Excelsior Springs, MO; two great-granddaughters: Haley and Jade Tompkins; and his siblings: Gene Hon, Joann Johnson, Marilyn Nasalroad, Linda Limpus, and Donald Hon.
