The fire was contained to the kitchen by the buildings fire suppression systems. This fire appears to have been caused by commercial cooking equipment use.
Sunday, Jan 8, Belton Fire Department crews with the assistance of South Metro Fire Protection District and the Grandview Fire Department responded to an appliance fire in a commercial structure located in the area of Cedar and Cambridge. This fire was contained to the appliance itself.
The cause of this fire is currently under investigation. EMS units transported 3 patients for smoke inhalation and completed 2 refusals.
Upon the conclusion of this fire, Belton Fire Crews were dispatched to a vehicle fire in the area of Cedar and Givan. This fire was extinguished quickly with no injuries.
