Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am Saturday, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Drexel Public School Foundation. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.
Katherine “Kay” Louise Harris was born July 26, 1942 in Pleasanton, Kansas to Ralph Oliver and Gladys Irene Wetzel Cummins. She grew up in Pleasanton and graduated from high school in 1960. On September 24, 1965 she was united in marriage to James Edgar “Ed” Harris. Kay worked for House of Lloyd for 15 years and Cummins Tools for six years before retiring in 2004.
Kay enjoyed baking, sewing, raising flowers, and watching her grandsons play sports or be in plays. She loved to be with family.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and sister Joyce Schasteen. She is survived by her husband Ed Harris, son Jim Harris, daughter Sheryl Harris Gilbert and husband Darrell, grandsons, Stephan Ogden, Christopher Harris, Ethan Harris, Andrew Gilbert, and Adam Gilbert. She is also survived by two sisters, Rosalea Demott and Sue Neubauer, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
