Makayla Mallatt returned to the mat in her usual dominating style. She is our first women’s district champion. She pinned her way through all her opponents in the first period. She also broke her own record for the schools fastest pin by a female. :12 seconds. Her previous record was :18. She will move on to the state championships.
Airyanna Nuzum wrestled strong, but could not get a win. I am pleased with her performance because she gets better and better each time she wrestles. The future looks bright for her!
Josie Johnston. What can I say. She did not get the outcome that we were hoping, but she went out and gave it her all. I will admit that I am super sad that she will not move on to state. She is an amazing young woman, and I am super proud to have coached her for three years. I will miss here dearly. I want to wish her luck in her upcoming track season. She will do great things.
