The deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle but the driver continued east bound on F Hwy. Approximately 1 mile west of Passaic the deputy deployed the Grappler System and brought the vehicle to a stop.
A 12 year old male was taken into custody where he was later turned over to the Juvenile Office. The juvenile was then transported to a juvenile detention center.
The parents, Children’s Division, Juvenile Office and the Sheriffs Office are working together to change the behavior of this juvenile.
“This is a great example of why we invested in the Grapple System. An inexperienced juvenile driver refusing to stop could have ended completely different.
