Butler Bears Varsity baseball team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 14-6 loss to Clinton on Tuesday. Clinton scored on a double and an error in the first inning.
The Bears got four hits and Clinton had 12 in the high-scoring affair. Clinton fired up the offense in the first inning. Clinton scored two runs when English doubled.
The Bears tallied three runs in the sixth inning. Eli Cox and Bryson Kash each had RBIs in the frame. Clinton scored eight runs in the sixth inning.
Clinton big bats were led by Martin, Balke, Montanya, McGuire, and Best, all driving in runs in the frame. Martin led thing off on the hill for Clinton.
The ace went four and a third innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five.
Brock lines was on the mound for the Bears. Lines allowed seven hits and six runs over five innings, striking out three.
Bryson Kash and Jake Chandler entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a thirds of an inning and one-third of an innings respectively.
Brayden Jackson led the Bears with two hits in two at bats. Jackson led the Bears with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.
