Traffic Alert: Single lane closures scheduled for portion of I-49 this week
CASS COUNTY – Crews are in the process of pavement repairs along northbound and southbound Interstate 49 between 163rd Street (Belton) to just north of Harrisonville. Due to inclement weather, work has been extended and include an overnight beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning.
During this time, there will various single lane closures in both direction of I-49. Motorists are advised to use caution in the area, plan ahead, and consider alternate routes. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
