Stabbing at crowded music event in Belton

On 4/9/2023 at 8:18 PM, Belton officers were dispatched to a fight with a potential stabbing at a crowded music event in the area of 164th and Prospect Ave.

Officers on the scene located a male subject in the parking lot area. This subject was not wearing a shirt and had what appeared to be blood on his head. Officers noticed he had an empty knife sheath on his belt. A witness on the scene approached officers stating that the male subject stabbed another male who was located at the pedestrian security checkpoint.

Officers and medics made their way to the victim, who was transported to the ER emergent. The victim had multiple wounds to his neck, arm, and torso. The suspect was also transported to a different hospital for evaluation. Once medically cleared, he was then released to the Belton Jail pending charges. Officers processed the scene and recovered a knife that was secured for evidence.

Further investigation revealed there were two additional victims who self-transported to an area ER. One had an injury to the hands, while the other subject was stabbed in his left torso region. The identities of the victims and the suspect are not being released at this time.
