"Daddy's Eyes" author returning to Bates County for book signing

Rachel Houston
It was the 1940s in rural Missouri. Adding to the unique challenges and hardships of the time, six children, all with visual impairments, are raised. This endearing, humorous biographical collection of astounding stories chronicles the trials and triumphs of one family’s walk with the Lord as they refuse to allow their impairments to become disabilities. It is the story of God’s great faithfulness in action, time and time again. Faith makes sight. These inspiring stories of determination and endurance can speak to all of us in every challenge as we are…learning to see through Daddy’s Eyes

Growing up in Bates county Rachel Houston recognized early on that her father, Leroy Welch,  would never let a visual impairment be a disability for him. In fact, the same was true for his five siblings who had the same impairment but collectively found that faith, humor and determination would be needed to bring normalcy to their lives in spite of it.

This highly spiritual, easy-going mindset deeply influenced Rachel to do positive things in her life as well as she is co-founder of Houston Faith Ministries, is a pastor, a teacher, and now has authored an inspirational book that chronicles the triumphs of this family titled "Daddy's Eyes: Learning to see through Blinded Eyes" that is available for purchase here as well as through Barnes & Noble, Amazon and more.

To commemorate the release of the book, Rachel will be at the Butler Public Library on May 30th 10 am to 2 pm for a book signing and everyone is invited to stop by, get a copy and visit.
