Obituary - Linda Sue “Moore” Atkinson

Linda Sue “Moore” Atkinson, of Stover, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at her home. Graveside services will be held 9:00 am Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Shore Cemetery in Oak Grove, Missouri. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 20th, 2023 at Lake View Baptist Church 32760 Ivy Bend Rd Stover, MO 65078.

She was born April 10,1949 in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of George Ray and Katie Belle (Burrow) Moore. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Atkinson in Arkansas. They shared many happy years of marriage. Linda graduated from Adrian High School in Adrian, MO in 1967. Linda lived in various places during her life and worked in the healthcare business of ice filing insurance claims for many years. 

She was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Ivy Bend Community. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and decorating her home for the holidays. She was a fiercely funny and competitive Farkle player and loved hosting Bingo at every possible holiday. Linda loved her kids and grandchildren. She was

known for her work ethic. Many times, she would work more than one job, just to provide for the family. She loved a good bargain. She may have even been known as the queen of the clearance rack. She treasured all her dogs. Especially her sweet Lilly. She loved her many adventures with her husband Ken.

Survivors include her husband Ken Atkinson of the home, daughters Melissa (Donny) Villalobos of Blue Springs, Jennifer (Danny) Wainscott of Butler, Sherry (Mike) Bean of Republic, Step-Daughter Bonnie (Kendall) Dalton of Higginsville, Step-Daughter Kenbra (Steve) Deere of Belton, Step-Son Ben (Shelly) Atkinson of Princeton, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Moore and wife Diana of Barnett, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Dan Moore.
