Two Missouri Welding Institute students were arrested this week for an alleged assault

Two Missouri Welding Institute students were arrested this week for an alleged assault.

On May 1st 2023 Nevada Officers were dispatched to Nevada Regional Medical Center in reference to an assault. The victim informed Officers that he had been assaulted by several people. The victim had what appeared to be significant injuries to his face.

Officers spoke with an individual who informed them of where the suspects resided. Officers responded to the Stadium Suites apartments and observed multiple areas of blood in front of the apartment and located blood in front of the front door to the suspect's apartment.

Officers made contact with 18 year old Joey Guardino, who initially denied knowledge of an assault but later admitted to being involved after telling officers his brother had nothing to do with anything. Officers obtained a search warrant for the apartment and discovered other items belonging to Joey Guardino with blood on them.

In a neighboring apartment, officers made contact with 18 year old Jack Sehulster. After a search warrant was conducted, evidentiary items related to the assault were located as well as a 9 mm pistol with no serial numbers was located under Sehulter's bed mattress.

Guardino was arrested for second degree assault and is being held in Vernon County Jail on $50,000 bond. Sehulster is also being held in the Vernon County Jail on $50,000 bond on a charge of second degree assault and a misdemeanor charge for possession of a defaced firearm.
