Update: All lanes now open after Cass County semi truck fire

On Wednesday May 10th around 3:55 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County, Cass County Sheriff's Deputies, Belton Police Department and MoDot all responded to a semi truck fire in the southbound lanes of I-49 just south of 195th Street in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the incident occurred when the 2017 Volvo VNL670 driven by 54 year old Yaobin Feng of Hayward, California caught on fire on the side of the road.

A passenger in the semi truck 25 year old Runhao Liu of Stockton, California exited the truck barefoot and stepped on burning debris.
