On 9-19-2022, a Belton Police School Resource Officer received information from a student regarding inappropriate social media messages and videos received by the student from a substitute teacher.This officer, along with members of the Belton Police Investigations Division and with the cooperation from our partners in the Belton School District began an investigation which uncovered additional victims. In the early morning hours of 9-21-2022, the suspect was detained by the Bates County Sheriff’s Office as a person of interest in this case. The suspect was extradited back to the Belton Jail at that time.
