Lavonne was born July 24, 1954. Lavonne lived with her parents, 2 brothers and one sister who she loved very much. She entered Residential Care when her mother passed away when she was young. She lived in 2 or 3. She lived in 2 different agencies before coming to Willow Creek where she found her forever home. Lavonne lived with her Willow Creek family for 25 years. She went to school at Lakeview Woods where she graduated at 21 years old. Lavonne then attended the Casco Area Sheltered Workshop in Harrisonville for many, many years. She transferred to Bates County Industries Sheltered Workshop where she worked until she retired.

Lavonne was blessed with all of the Willow Creek staff loving her through her big personality and her “I’m going to do what is on mind and no one can change that!”

Lavonne moved in with the Stephens family, Willow Creek, August 3, 1996. She loved Hannah, Gerold, and Tiffany and all of their friends. She loved Sunday School, church, and the workshops she attended. She loved the local sports events, community activities, church activities and especially Optimist Bingo. She loved Christian and Ronnie Dennison, new providers of Willow Creek and their family also. Christian and Shelby worked with Lavonne several years before purchasing Willow Creek.

Lavonne had many friends, including her Willow Creek sisters and many friends in the community, Ruth Ann Ferguson and Marge Clifton, they taught her Sunday School class for years where she attended with Christy Clifton, one of her friends who spent a lot of time with her, and the Willow Creek Ladies. The day Lavonne started to work at BCI Dawn Wix became her best friend. They would sit on the front porch and write or color for hours laughing and laughing. They were quite a pair. Gayla Boyd, Dawn’s sister took Lavonne home once a month with her for the weekend visit for several years, until Lavonne’s health would not allow her to go. Lavonne would start packing and have her suitcase out by the door a week before going with Gayla.

She is survived by her Willow Creek sisters. She lived with Bonnie and Pat for over 40 years. She is also survived by Christian, Ronnie Dennison and family and Jerry, Jeanie Stephens and family. (Providers of Willow Creek.) She will be missed by all.
