Shooting Investigation at Hillsdale State Park in Miami County Kansas

Early this morning, emergency personnel in Miami County Kansas Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a campground at the Hillsdale State Park for a report of a stabbing and a shooting.

One person suffered a fatal gunshot wound, and one person suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound. One person was quickly taken into custody by Deputies, pending formal charges.

At no time during this investigation was there a threat to the public. This investigation is ongoing, and a press release will be issued later.
