Driver shoots at police during pursuit in Cedar County

On July 10th at about 11:15 PM a Cedar County Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop in Stockton. The vehicle did not stop as additional Deputies and a Missouri State Trooper's joined in the pursuit. The driver began shooting at the officers from his vehicle.

A Cedar County Deputy returned fire, and the pursuit continued east on 32 highway into Polk County at speeds of 50 to 80 MPH. Polk County Deputies joined the pursuit. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed in Polk County at 32 and 123 highways.

The driver was arrested, pending the filing of charges. The driver was taken to an area hospital for apparent moderate injuries sustained in the crash. No Officers were injured. More information will be released when it is available.
