Robert Dee Sampson “Dee” age 63 of Dallas, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023. He was born February 3, 1960 to Robert William Sampson and Dolly Dimples Sweets.
Dee graduated from Butler High School in 1978. He was a high school athlete who participated and lettered in three sports–football, basketball, and track.
Dee attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri for two years and the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana for one year. In 1984, Dee obtained an Associate Degree from Kansas City College and graduated from the college’s Respiratory Therapy Program as a Respiratory Therapist. He obtained national certification and through reciprocity worked in several different states as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. In 1988, Dee applied for a patent and trademark within the medical field.
Dee had many friends throughout his life. He loved to laugh and joke around. No matter his circumstances, he was always in good spirits. He never forgot to say “love you” to members of his family. Dee was loved and will be missed.
Dee is survived by his two daughters, Helena Davis of Kansas City, Missouri and Dawn Detweiler of Akron, Ohio; three grandchildren, Daleron Davis, Jordan Pearl and Hailey Anderson all of Kansas City, MO; his sister, Sadie Sweets, of McKinney, Texas; two nephews, Tyson Sweets of McKinney, Texas and Kenneth Henry, Loganville, Georgia; two great- nephews, Zachariah Henry and Zion Henry; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William Sampson, and Dolly Dimples Sweets.
