Rural Henry County Man Sentenced to Two Life Sentences

Marion Bailey, 55, of rural Henry County, Missouri has been sentenced to two life sentences. He pled guilty to two counts of statutory sodomy in the first degree with a child under twelve. He was further found to be a predatory sex offender.

Prosecuting Attorney, LaChrisha Gray, prosecuted the case on behalf of the State of Missouri.

In 2022, Bailey was discovered in bed with two females, one age 7 and one age 10. It was then discovered that sexual conduct had been occurring for some time and on multiple occasions.

Upon being interviewed by a detective with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Bailey admitted that he had also victimized another young female about twenty years prior. Further investigation confirmed that admission.

On September 18, 2023, Bailey entered a guilty plea and was sentenced. At the hearing, both victims stood before the court and provided a shared statement.

Bailey was sentenced to life imprisonment on each of the counts, with a minimum sentence of twelve (12) years on each count prior to being eligible for parole.

The sentences will run consecutive to each other. In other words, Bailey must serve twenty-four (24) years prior to being considered for parole.

If he is paroled by the Missouri Department of Corrections, he will be subject to lifetime supervision, including GPS monitoring, and sex offender registration.

Prosecutor Gray stated, “Nothing can undo the terrible impact this defendant has had on the lives of these young ladies and their families, but they showed incredible courage standing before the court with such a powerful message. I am pleased justice prevailed for them.”
