Darlene Leimkiller, 65 of Nevada passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Darlene was born on Feb, 20, 1958 in Nevada to Melvin and Dorothy J. (Ogle) Ensor. On April 19, 1986 Darlene was married to David Leimkiller and he survives of the home.
Darlene was raised in Schell City and attended Schell City High School. She worked as a waitress in the Kansas City area for several years including the Blue Springs Country Club and later 54 Café in Nevada as well as several other restaurants in the area. Darlene later became an LPN working at several nursing homes in Nevada and also drove a truck for ten years until her retirement.
Survivors in addition to her husband, David, include her children, Missy McCoy of Ft. Scott, Brenda Brown (Mike) of Nevada, Debbie Brooks (William)of Nevada, Jeff Leimkiller of Lebanon, MO and J.D. Ellis (Tiffany)Schell City, MO, her grandchildren, Jakub, Ce’Airra, Hannah, Tiara, Kendrick, Brayden, Cheyenne, Elizabeth, Rielly, and “Little” Darlene, numerous great grandchildren, three sisters, Mary Anderson of Higginsville, MO, Donna Raggo of Nevada, and Mabel Pryor (Dale) of Nevada and one brother, James Ensor (Gina) of Schell City. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Rolla Ensor and a granddaughter, Meaghyn Ensor, and her “Pops”, Robert Wagner.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
