Midway R-1 School District hires new head football coach

The Midway R-1 School District would like to announce the selection and hire of Kyle Schenker as Midway High School's New Head Football Coach!

We are looking forward to working with Coach Schenker and in supporting his positive impact on the students in our community! Welcome to Midway!

Coaching Bio: Kyle Schenker

Kyle Schenker will begin his first year as head football coach of Midway High School, beginning in the Summer of 2024. He brings 30 years of football coaching experience with him, with previous stops in Kansas (8 years), before moving to the state of Missouri. After moving to the Show Me State, he spent 21 years at Harrisonville High School as the defensive coordinator for 18 years, and head coach for 3 years. While at Harrisonville, Coach Schenker was part of 5 state championship teams, and 1 state runner-up.

He has spent the last 2 years in southwest Missouri in the school districts of Ozark and Logan-Rogersville, respectively, as Defensive Coordinator. Coach Schenker earned his undergraduate degree in Health & Physical Education from the University of Wyoming, and his graduate degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University. He played football collegiately at both Kansas University and the University of Wyoming. He is married to his wife, Amy, of 32 years, who is an elementary teacher. They have 3 children, Alyx and Wyatt (ages 26), and Ryder who is 15 years old.
