Rich Hill man escapes injury in Bates County crash

On Sunday morning November 5th around 12:35 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Business 49 Ramp at I-49.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the southbound 2010 Dodge Avenger driven by 33 year old George W. Gilkey of Rich Hill, Missouri ran off the right side of the roadway, the vehicle impacted the ground two times before coming to rest.

Mr. Gilkey sustained minor injuries and he refused medical treatment at the scene of this accident.

George W. Gilkey received two citations as a result of this accident 1.) Driving While Intoxicated -Prior Offender 2.) Failure to drive within a single lane.
