John Edwin Wade, age 95 of Butler, Missouri died Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at his home. He was born October 28, 1928 to Chester Arthur Roy and Lula Mae Hughes Wade in Chanute, Kansas.
John grew up in Humbolt, Kansas where he attended school. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran serving in the Korean War. After his service he worked as a brick layer, a barber and retired as a powder monkey equipment operator for Petty Jean Electric Company in Clinton, Arkansas. John was united in marriage to Emily Jones.
John was known as peaceful, loving, patient and kind. He enjoyed quilting, woodworking, drawing, painting and doing carpentry work. John loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
John is survived by six children, Victoria Nugent, Cincinnati, Ohio, Steve Wade of Cheshire, Massachusetts, Penny Gregory and husband Gary of Kansas City, Kansas, Harry Wade of Edwardsville, Kansas, Brenda Shoemaker of Conway, Arkansas and Stacey Wiseman of Butler, Missouri; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Emily Jones Wade in 2010; and a daughter, Cathy Studdie.
