Senior Cloey Fritts hit two home runs and drove in four as Butler lady bears softball defeated Rich Hill 25-7 on Wednesday

Senior Cloey Fritts hit two home runs and drove in four as the Butler bears defeated Rich Hill 25-7 in softball on Wednesday at Rich Hill. Fritts homered in the second and fifth innings to get the lady bears going.

Butler got on the board in the top of the second inning after Senior Haven Humphrey scored after tagging up, Freshman Jena Tourtillot singled, nd Kylee Dubray grounded out, scoring one run.

The lady bears scored eight runs on 10 hits in the top of the third inning. Senior Miranda Foster doubled, scoring two runs, Senior Ella Buckner singled, scoring one run, Sophomore Taylor Hudson doubled, scoring one run, Freshman Dubray doubled, scoring two runs, Humphrey grounded out, scoring one run, and Foster singled, scoring one run.

Butler added five more runs in the top of the fifth inning on four hits. Fritts hit a solo home run to center field, Humphrey doubled, scoring one run, Junior Avery Eldred singled, scoring one run, and Junior Kyren Fischer singled, scoring two runs.

Kylee Dubray led things off in the circle for the Bears. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Eldred and Hudson each appeared in relief for the lady bears.

The lady bears amassed 23 hits in the game. Tourtillot, Fritts, and Hudson each collected three hits for the Butler Bears. Carmichael, Kayden Cook, Buckner, Foster, and Fischer each collected multiple hits for the bears. Butler had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game.

Carmichael and Humphrey led the team with two bases on balls each. Eldred, Carmichael, Cook, Buckner, and Ragan each stole multiple bases for the Butler Bears. The Bears stole 13 bases in the game.

The lady bears will travel to Adrian on March 22nd to take on the lady blackhawks.
