Property damage reported in Belton

On Sunday evening, May 7, 2024, Belton Police Officers were dispatched to 612 Westover Rd, Cimarron Park, in response to careless driving. It was reported that a black vehicle and a white vehicle were seen doing donuts in the grassy area of the park.

As a result, significant damage was done to city property. After reviewing footage and interviewing witnesses, officers identified the drivers of the two vehicles involved, who were under the age of 18.

Due to the ages of these juveniles, The Belton Police Department cannot release their identities. The investigation is ongoing; however, this case is being referred to the Cass County Juvenile Office for charges.
