Sheldon man injured in Vernon County rollover accident

On Sunday evening around 8:35 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on South 1425 Road around 4 miles south of Rich Hill.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a northbound 1996 Ford F-250 driven by 50 year old Joey S. Thornburg of Sheldon, Missouri traveled off the roadway multiple times and began skidding before traveling off the roadway again and overturning.

Mr. Thornburg sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by Vernon County EMS to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Joey S. Thornburg received four citations following this accident 1.) Misdemeanor DWI 2.) Failure to maintain right half of the roadway 3.) Failure to register a motor vehicle 4.) No seatbelt.
