Update: Tornado confirmed last night in Henry County

Today the National Weather Service completed its assessment and determined an EF-0 tornado was on the ground south of Calhoun last night in rural Henry County. This makes number 5 for the year. 

I am not aware of another time in recent history that we have had that many tornadoes in our County in one season. Luckily, all of our tornadoes have been brief spin ups that did not result in any injuries. 

Our office will continue to work on projects and initiatives that increase public safety and education regarding these events that are happening much more frequently.
