71st rodeo ‘of the best ever’

 

2024 BUTLER SADDLE CLUB RODEO QUEEN is 16 year old Bree Baney, daughter of Landon and Tami Baney of Harrsonville, Mo. who took top honors during festivities Sunday night at the Bates county fairgrounds. It was a big weekend overall with a capacity crowd Saturday night.


Cameron Anderson son of Chad and Courtney Anderson of Butler was the lucky recipient of a scholarship that was awarded Sunday night during the 71st annual Butler Saddle Club Rodeo. Pictured with Anderson is Saddle Club President Kenny Gabriel.


KIND OF A DRAG These cowboys did their best wrangling in the wild horse race over the weekend at the 71st Butler Saddle Club Rodeo. It took just over a minute to saddle the beast and go for a short ride. Other highlights included the Ring of Fear contest along with traditional favorites such as bull & bronc riding, team roping and more.

Preslee Chism of Butler (second from right) was declared Mutton Bustin Champ during the 71st annual Butler Saddle Club Rodeo over the weekend. Other winners include Wild Horse Race, the Osage Outlaws of Pawhuska, OK; Marshall Mayfield a Savage rifle with scope or $500 and the State Fair 4 pack of tickets or $200 went to Jeremy Thomson. The Saddle Club would like to thank everyone for their support and plans are already in the works for the 72nd celebration next year.
