Arrest made in Cass County

Late last night and early this morning the Criminal Apprehension Unit conducted directed patrol activities, resulting in the arrest of eight people.

One of those arrests came shortly after 9:30 p.m. when a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations as the driver traveled southbound on I-49. after the deputy activated his emergency lights — continuing northbound on I-49 from 58 Highway.

The deputy successfully deployed his Grappler, with the pursuit ending near the 163rd St. exit in Belton.

The driver has since been identified as 41-year-old Stacey Coston of Peculiar. Coston has two active warrants out of Platte County, Missouri and an active felony warrant out of Leavenworth County, Kansas.

While doing a search, deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the car Coston was driving. She is currently being held at the Cass County jail with charges pending from last night’s arrest. The directed patrol activities led to 45 car stops and eight arrests, including this one.
