A bus from the Sherwood School District was apparently exiting a drive from the Clinton Community Center at 1004 E. Sedalia Avenue when it was struck by a SUV travelling northbound on Price Lane.
The bus was occupied by 45 1st and 2nd Grade students, four teachers and the bus driver. Multiple injuries were reported at the scene, but all of those appear to be minor at the time of this release.
Three students were transported to the Emergency Department by ambulance as a precautionary measure. Preliminary investigation indicates that the bus driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic, possibly due to their line of sight being obscured by equipment attached to the bus, as the only probable contributing circumstance to the crash.
