Two arrested after traffic stop in Freeman

On June 1 at around 5:15 p.m., a Cass County deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main St. and State Route 2 in Freeman.

The deputy made contact with 49-year-old Scott Schlesener of Amsterdam, Mo. Schlesener revealed he had drug paraphernalia in his car. 

Deputies also found methamphetamine in his vehicle.
They arrested Schlesener and deputies with the Criminal Apprehension Unit began an investigation.

Deputies executed a search warrant of the residence at 105 E Main St. in Freeman. They found multiple pieces of paraphernalia and narcotic packaging items. Deputies also found several firearms at the residence, one of which the Johnson County, KS Sheriff’s Office confirmed was stolen.

39-year-old Dana Bailey of Freeman has since been charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor.

She is charged with a Class C Felony for Delivering a Controlled Substance and a Class D Felony for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Bailey’s Class D Misdemeanor charge is for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The warrant for Bailey was issued with a bond of $15,000 cash only.
Schlesener is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, which is a Class D Felony. He is also charged with a Class D Misdemeanor for Driving While Revoked/Suspended.

The warrant for Schlesener was issued with a bond of $10,000 cash only.
